Rice played for the Washington Senators from 1915-1933, and for the Cleveland Indians in 1934. In 1925, he hit 182 singles and had a batting average of .350. Rice's family home was destroyed during the Morocco tornado of 21 April 1912. Rice was away at the time, but most of his family was killed.
