Died:

Former Vice President of the United States. Quayle was educated at DePauw University and the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. He was elected to the first of two terms as U.S. Representative in 1977, then won election to the United States Senate at the age of 33 when he defeated three-term incumbent Birch Bayh. Quayle was re-elected to the Senate in 1986 before being tapped as George Bush's running mate during the 1988 Presidential elections. He subsequently served four years as Vice President. The Bush/Quayle ticket was defeated in the 1992 elections, and Quayle's attempt to secure the 2000 Republican Presidential nomination fell short. He currently resides in Arizona.
