Introduction

Versailles State Park (pronounced Ver-Sales) comprises nearly 6,000 acres, which makes it the second largest of Indiana’s State Parks.is

Trails

There are only three hiking trails in the park. Trail 1, a two mile loop of sorts, is my favorite. It explores forested ridges and ravines south of the campground; in doing so, it passes a number of small sinkholes.

Trail 3 is an out-and-back that spends much of its 1.5 miles crisscrossing scenic Fallen Timber Creek; Trail 2 (three miles) ventures too close to the campgrounds for my taste.

Facilities

Campground with showers and restrooms, small nature center.
