Introduction
Vandolah Nature Preserve is immediately adjacent to I-69, and it is usually rather loud, particularly in those parts closest to the Interstate. The scenery and a nice assortment of spring wildflowers like twinleaf, hepatica, and jack-in-the-pulpit make this a worthwhile, if noisy, destination.
Trails
From the parking area, the trail heads straight toward I-69, then turns south to skirt a deep ravine. Watch for honey locust trees with spectacular thorns. The initial figure eight trail stays on relatively high ground, though offering overlooks of wet areas far below.
Another path descends to the bottom of the stream valley, connecting with a trail that follows Cedar Creek upstream, under I-69, and into a parcel on the west side of the Interstate.
Facilities
None.
