Introduction
Hitz-Rhodehamel Nature Preserve protects a large mature woods dominated by white and chestnut oaks. There are high ridge lines, steep slopes, and scenic intermittent stream valleys.
You can anticipate nice spring wildflower displays, ferns along the stream valleys, and gorgeous fall foliage.
Trails
One trail begins at the large Nature Conservancy sign, and descends immediately. While the trails are obvious, (some are marked with silver/white rectangular blazes) there are intersecting paths and the result is potentially confusing. Whichever way you go, expect to do a lot of climbing and descending, and be mindful of how to get back to your vehicle.
Facilities
None.
