Introduction
Hemlock Bluff Nature Preserve includes a high north-facing bluff along Guthrie Creek that is home to an impressive collection of hemlock trees, including one of the largest hemlocks in the state. The lower parking area offers access to Guthrie Creek and interesting layered rock formations at the base of the bluff.
Trails
The trail starts out to the west, then doubles back further down the steep slope, passing through several small hemlock stands before heading back up and out.

Jackson County. From the intersection of US 50 and Leesville Road (about 0.3 miles west of the Lawrence-Jackson county line), go south 2.4 miles to Sparksville Rd., then left 1.3 miles to a gravel lot on the left. The next left further on (1225 West) goes past a small parking area along the base of the bluff.
