Introduction
Hawthorn Park offers wooded trails and access to the adjacent J.I. Case Wetland Wildlife Refuge.
Trails
A paved loop trail leads from the Dogwood shelter house area through a small wood, and then swings by an observation structure that overlooks the wetland area. From here, you can pick up a trail that circles the wetland and connects to a rail-trail running along the northern boundary of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
There is little cover along the trail looping the wetland, but lots to see - birds and turtles in the water, and summer wildflowers lining the path.
Facilities
Water, bathrooms, shelter houses.
