Introduction
Greider's Woods lies within the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area. There are large trees and excellent spring wildflower displays that include bloodroot, false Solomon=s seal, prairie trillium, and sizeable colonies of large-flowered trillium.
Heron Pond lies just north of the preserve; floating logs on its surface are often crowded with snakes and turtles basking in the sun.
Trails
The Spear Lake Nature Trail is a relatively short loop that begins and end in upland oak-hickory forest, with a middle portion that descends into a broad stream valley. A sporadically available brochure describes numbered stations, though many are somewhat worse for wear.
Facilities
None.
