Introduction

Fogwell Forest Nature Preserve is in southwestern Allen County. Wildflowers are common in the spring, and include healthy stands of trillium. Highway and airport noise can be annoying, as are the stinging nettles that droop over the path in the summer.

Trails

A preserve sign and registry box mark the start of the trail. Pass through the fence opening and turn right. The path hugs the fence line all the way to the forest, though the meadow to your left is also part of the preserve.

The trail is a half-mile loop through an older second-growth woods that includes some large oak and beech trees. A short out-and-back spur at the west end of the loop leads through a wet area before dead-ending near some of the larger trees.

Facilities

None.
