Introduction

Burton Nature Preserve comprises about 130 acres adjacent to Lake Manitou and the Manitou Islands Wetland Conservation Area and Nature Preserve. DNR appears to manage some of the areas away from the lake as prairie.

Trails

Old lanes and clearly defined paths intertwine with a large network of unofficial side trails. Many of the latter explore small upland areas adjacent to the lake and wetlands.

You’ll enjoy views of Lake Manitou, see occasional wildflowers, and spot ducks and geese from the trail or occasional viewing stands.

Facilities

None.
