Introduction

Brammall Nature Preserve features an elaborate trail network through wet woods and along the southern shore of Pigeon Lake. The parking area is in the midst of a large meadow.

Trails

Walk north toward the tree line and once inside explore the numerous side trails or continue north toward the lake. Footing here can be wet and exposed roots make the path somewhat treacherous.

The clear water is full of fish (and attendant herons), but homes dot the opposite shore and boats are sometimes present. Sensitive ferns are abundant along the shore.

A small stream enters the lake toward the western side of the preserve, and the trail turns to follow it upstream. A small footbridge spans the creek and allows exploration of the other side.

Facilities

None.
