Puncheon Trail Click to Enlarge Introduction Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve protects more than 300 acres, including floodplain forest. Trails The oft-submerged entrance trail begins near the parking area, and leads to a large, low observation deck. It also connects to a very long, branched puncheon trail that extends for hundreds of yards through low-lying land, and eventually into a wet forest. The overall appearance is of former farm land that has had its drain tiles broken and been allowed to go native. If pressed for time skip the observation deck and walk the puncheon trail for close-up views of various wetland life forms. Visit during drier periods or bring waterproof footgear. Facilities None.
