Sign Click to Enlarge Trail Click to Enlarge Introduction Ball Lake Nature Preserve protects a woodland. While nice, I wouldn't rate it as worth a long trip. Trails White discs nailed to trees mark the trail. You’ll duck immediately into recent-growth woods, skirting areas wet enough to support skunk cabbage. There are large patches of May apple and mosquitoes galore. After reaching, then turning to follow, a ravine, the trail emerges along a road. The return leg is via a much overgrown path - watch for the white discs. Alternatively, return along the entrance path. Facilities None. Directions View Larger Map Steuben County.
