Location: Northeastern Indiana, bordered on the north by Noble County, to the east by Allen County, to the south by Huntington County, to the southwest by Wabash County, and to the west by Kosciusko County.

Population: 30,707 (2000 Census)

Cities & Towns: Columbia City (county seat, 7,077, 89th largest city in the State); Tri-Lakes (3,925), South Whitley (1,782), Churubusco (1,666), Larwill (282)

Named For: Colonel William Whitley, known mostly for fighting Indians.
