    Counties: Perry County Indiana


Perry County is located in southern Indiana, bordered on the north by Crawford and Dubois counties, to the south by Kentucky, and to the west by Spencer County.

It has an area of 381 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 18,899 residents.

Tell City (2000 Census population of 7,845) is both the largest city in Perry County and the County Seat.

Other cities and towns include Cannelton (1,209) and Troy (392).

The county was named for Oliver Hazard Perry, naval hero of the War of 1812.
