Location: Southwestern Indiana, bordered on the north by Daviess and Martin counties, to the east by Crawford and Orange counties, to the southeast by Perry County, to the south by Spencer County, to the southwest by Warrick County, and to the west by Pike County.

Population: 39,674 (2000 Census)

Cities & Towns: Jasper (county seat, 12,100, 63rd largest city in the State); Huntingburg (5,598), Ferdinand (2,277), Holland (695), Birdseye (465)

Named For: Toussaint Dubois, a Vincennes businessman important in the early history of the area.
