Clinton County is located in central Indiana, bordered on the north by Carroll County, to the northeast by Howard County, to the east by Hamilton and Tipton counties, to the south by Boone County, to the southwest by Montgomery County, and to the west by Tippecanoe County.

Clinton County was named for DeWitt Clinton, Governor of New York. It has an area of 405 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 33,866 residents.
