    Counties: Adams County Indiana


Adams County is located in northeastern Indiana, bordered on the north by Allen County, to the east by Ohio, to the south by Jay County, and to the west by Wells County.

It has an area of 339 square miles and during the 2000 Census had 33,625 residents.

Decatur (2000 Census population of 9,528) is both the largest city in Adams County and the County Seat.

Other cities and towns include Berne (4,150), Geneva (1,368), and Monroe (734).

The county was named for John Quincy Adams, the 6th President of the United States.

Notable natives include film director David Anspaugh (Hoosiers, Rudy).
