Cities: Rensselaer Rensselaer Rensselaer (2000 population = 5,294) is the seat of Jasper County. It is also the largest city in the county. Rensselaer lies in Marion Township, at the intersection of Indiana State Road 114 and US Highway 231. The Iroquois River flows east to west along the southern edge of town. St Josephs College is about two miles south of the city.
