Cities: Remington Remington Remington (2000 population = 1,323) is located in Carpenter Township, in extreme southern Jasper County. The town was laid out in 1860, about the time a railroad was built through the vicinity. Remington lies at the junction of US Highways 24 and 231; and Exit 201 of I-65 is about two miles east of town. One interesting feature of Remington is its brick water tower, which dates from 1897.
