Cities: Osgood Osgood Osgood Indiana (2000 population = 1,669) is located in Center Township, Ripley County. Osgood was laid out in 1856 along the route of the Ohio & Mississippi Railroad. The railroad still passes through town, but most traffic flows along US 421 or Indiana 350, which intersect in town. Osgood was incorporated in 1878. According to Ripley County History 1818-1938, the town formed its own light company in 1906-07, which by 1925 was also supplying electricity to the nearby town of Napoleon.
