Michigantown

Michigantown Indiana (2000 population = 406) lies in Michigan Township, in eastern Clinton County. It was laid out in 1830 by Joseph Hill and Robert Edwards, along the route of the Michigan Road, one of the earliest State Highways (now Indiana 29). The Toledo, Cincinnati & St. Louis Railroad later built a line between Frankfort and Kokomo that passed by the northern part of the town. According to the History of Clinton County, Indiana, 1886 Michigantown boasted three physicians, a wagon maker, and two blacksmiths. Current business activity is limited.
