Cities: Logansport Logansport Logansport (2000 Population = 19,684, 40th largest city in the State) is the county seat of Cass County. It is located at the junction of the Eel and Wabash Rivers, and its early development was spurred in part by the development of the Wabash & Erie canal in the 1830s. Later, the city became an important railroad hub. Today it is home to a number of industrial concerns and a large State mental hospital.
