Cities: Hamilton Hamilton Hamilton (2000 population = 1,233) is located in Otsego Township, in southeastern Steuben County, at the intersection of State Roads 1 and 427 and at the southern end of Lake Hamilton. Part of the town is located in adjacent DeKalb County. The town was platted in 1836 and is named for Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Treasury Secretary.
