Cities: Dayton Dayton Dayton (2000 population = 1,120) lies in Sheffield Township, in southeastern Tippecanoe County. The South Fork of Wildcat Creek is just east of town, and I-65 is about a mile to the west. Indiana Highway 38 runs east-west through Dayton. Dayton was laid out in 1827.
