Cities: Boswell Boswell
Boswell Indiana (population 827, 2000 Census) is the fourth most populous settlement in Benton County. It lies near the center of Grant Township, in the southwestern quadrant of the county. State Road 352 runs east-west through town, and US Highway 41 runs north-south along Boswell's eastern edge. Despite an inscription on the water tower proclaiming Boswell as the "Hub of the Universe", the town's better days seem to have passed, and what economic activity remains has shifted from the virtually abandoned downtown area (pictured above) to the fringe along lightly-travelled US 41. There are no major watercourses nearby, though Mud Pine Creek is about two miles to the east. |
